  Communion-wide support for ANiC

The Primates (national church leaders) representing the vast majority of active Anglicans worldwide have formally recognized the Anglican Church in North America – of which ANiC is a diocese – as the legitimate successors of the historic Anglicanism in North America.
The Primates Council of the Fellowship of Confessing Anglicans – leaders of seven Anglican Provinces representing the majority of global Anglicans – formally recognized the Anglican Church in North America on 16 April 2009. Their communiqué stated: “The FCA Primates’ Council recognizes the Anglican Church in North America as genuinely Anglican and recommends that Anglican Provinces affirm full communion with the ACNA.”
The Church of England General Synod also affirmed the Anglican Church in North America at its meeting on 10 February 2010.
On 23 April 2010, leaders of 20 Anglican Provinces (national churches) – representing 80 per cent of the world’s Anglicans – together with other church leaders gathered for the Global South Encounter in Singapore welcomed the Anglican Church in North America (ACNA) and urged all Provinces to formally recognize ACNA. Their communiqué stated: “We are grateful that the recently formed Anglican Church in North America (ACNA) is a faithful expression of Anglicanism. We welcomed them as partners in the Gospel and our hope is that all provinces will be in full communion with the clergy and people of the ACNA and the Communion Partners.”

Prior to the May/June 2009 court case, support – and assurance of prayer – for the ANiC parishes in dispute with the Diocese of New Westminster came from Anglican leaders around the world including letters from:
Bishop Wallace Benn and Anglican Mainstream, Church of England
Bishop Michael Nazir-Ali and the Steering Group of the Fellowship of Confessing
Anglicans in the UK and Ireland

The Venerable Michael Lawson, on behalf the Church of England Evangelical
   Council (CEEC) which he chairs

Archbishop Yong Ping Chung, retired Primate of Southeast Asia
Bishop Bill Murdoch, Anglican Diocese in New England
