The Rev. Canon Howard Hynes
Dean, Newfoundland
Howard has served in four parishes within the Diocese of Eastern Newfoundland & Labrador since his ordination in 1983. For the past nine years, he has served as rector in the Parish of St. John the Evangelist. He is a Canon of the Cathedral with responsibility for spiritual renewal and development.
Howard and his wife, Ceridwen Price, make their home in Conception Bay South, Newfoundland - together with their son and two daughters, aged 11-14 years. He enjoys walking, reading, cooking, watching movies with the kids, and good conversation.
Asked why he is so committed to the Anglican expression of Christianity despite the growing pressures, Howard says, “Christianity has been deeply enriched by the Anglican Tradition. When this time of 'refining' is complete, I am confident that orthodox Anglicanism will be an even greater gift to the Body of Christ.”
