  Clergy conference, February 27 - March 1

January 9, 2007

Dear Fellow Clergy,

Re: Invitation to Network's 2007 Clergy Conference, Feb. 27 - Mar. 1 at Cedar Springs

Last February, the Anglican Network in Canada sponsored its first annual Clergy Conference at the Cedar Springs Retreat Center in Sumas, Washington. Our goal was to provide good Biblical teaching as well as spiritual refreshment and enriching fellowship with other clergy. We sought to strengthen each other as we minister in the midst of the unfolding crisis in our Church. The conference was sold out and the feedback from those who attended was very encouraging. The Network leadership feels very strongly that we should not let the crisis in the Church stop the preaching and teaching of the Word, nor inhibit our ministry to one another and to others.

We are now inviting you to join us for our 2nd annual clergy conference at Cedar Springs. This is open to - and will be an encouragement to - ALL Essentials clergy members. The focus will be on teaching the Word and not on the crisis in our beloved Church.

I am delighted to announce that
Rev. John Guernsey will be our speaker on the subject of: “Lord, Teach Us to Pray”. John is a deeply spiritual man, a gentle but authoritative teacher and a powerful leader. He is Senior Dean of the US Network and has become a dear friend.

Dates: Tuesday Feb. 27 at 4:00pm until Thursday evening Mar. 1 at 9:00pm

Keynote: John Guernsey, rector of All Saints, Woodbridge, Virginia, and Dean of the Mid-Atlantic Convocation of the Anglican Communion Network in the US

Location: Cedar Springs conference center in Sumas, Washington
(a free shuttle from the Abbotsford airport will be available)

Cost: $275 Cdn for single accommodation, $225 for shared, $175 for spouse. (There will be accommodation available for another night for an additional charge for those needing to fly out first thing on Friday March 2nd.)

You can register by contacting Gary Stobbs at 604 854 5380 or garystobbs@shaw.ca.

Yours in Christ's service,

Trevor Walters
Member, Anglican Network in Canada Servant Leadership Executive
and Senior Dean of BC
