WAYS OF BUILDING PARISH MOMENTUM
|
|
|
1. Find the "can do" achievers and put them in positions of leadership.
2. Do not plead for volunteers. Go to the best people and ask them personally.
3. After basic operations are in place, be selective as to what the parish takes on, focus the energy, and celebrate the achievements.
4. Foster a clear and fluid communication system so that everybody is informed, and can share in the group goals and the celebration of group achievements.
5. Ask people to take manageable steps of growth in givings, leadership, service, and outreach.
Become a human resources manager.
6. Know and appreciate the unique character and story of your congregation and how that fits or collides with proposed destinations.
7. Mentor and promote the gifts of upcoming generations.
